Their primary responsibility will be to oversee a team dedicated to constructing, upkeeping, and overall management of the company's enterprise data warehouse.
This position is integral to the company's endeavor of modernizing data management through the utilization of cloud technologies.
Surgery Partners is actively seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Manager who will lead our expanding team of data engineers.
The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in promoting data-centric decision-making throughout the organization.
As the Manager, you will have the responsibility of supervising two teams of data professionals.
The first team focuses on data analytics, where you will lead a group of analytics developers proficient in advanced tools like Tableau and Power BI.
Their expertise will be utilized to extract valuable insights from complex datasets.
The second team specializes in data engineering, where you will manage a group of data engineers who construct and maintain data pipelines to and from the data lake/warehouse.
This managerial position will have a pivotal role in shaping our data strategy and driving business growth through data-driven initiatives.
Essential Functions Provide consultation on data governance policies and processes, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
Enhance the data warehouse and data lake structures and implementations to align with organizational and project goals.
Manage resources, including planning, hiring, conducting employee reviews, fostering staff development, and handling other staffing-related responsibilities.
Supervise and offer technical guidance to data management personnel, supporting the organization in planning, designing/building, testing, implementing, and maintaining data-related systems.
Serve as a mentor to development staff, facilitating their growth and professional development.
Education/Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
More than 7 years of experience in relevant roles.
At least 2 years of experience in people management.
Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change by effectively communicating a clear vision of goals and understanding the necessary paths to achieve them.
Strong aptitude for collaborative work across different disciplines and the ability to foster alignment among stakeholders.
Exceptional analytical skills, with experience in data mining and a comprehensive understanding of industry tools and competencies.
Excellent troubleshooting and communication abilities.
Proficiency in working within a team environment.
Extensive knowledge of constructing data pipelines using ETL/ELT tools.
Proficiency in developing the data analysis layer for business intelligence (BI) tools.
Strong SQL skills and experience with SQL Server are required.
Familiarity with Azure Cloud is a valuable asset.
Experience with Agile/iterative development methodologies is advantageous.
