About the Position:
The incumbent in this position is assigned responsibilities related to preparing, classifying, and abstracting medical reports in the medical records unit.
Typical job functions include but are not limited to:
Reviewing medical records for completeness and accuracy and referring incomplete or inaccurate reports to appropriate staff for correction.
Preparing statistical, case, and other types of reports.
Preparing materials and forms and gathering all pertinent information and data for admissions and discharges.
Ensuring all data is properly coded.
Job Type/Salary:
Full-time Annual Salary is $34,500, or $16.
59/hour Primary Working Hours are Tuesday-Saturday 8am-5pm FLSA Status:

Experience:
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of eligibility for accreditation with the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); or two years of experience working with patient records in a medical setting such as a hospital, state institution, medical clinic or a physician's office.
Special Requirements:
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver's license.

Griffin Memorial Hospital (GMH) is in Norman, Oklahoma, and serves all 77 counties in Oklahoma as the Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) treatment center for adults.
GMH provides community crisis stabilization and residential treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health and trauma related conditions.
Drug and Alcohol Pre-employment and Preplacement Testing:
Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs.
Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result.
THIS AGENCY REQUIRES COVERAGE 24 HOURS, 7 DAYS PER WEEK.
