Qualifications:
Education and
Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
One to two years of experience in general office practices, procedures, and equipment or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Knowledge:
Office administrative and secretarial practices and procedures such as business letter writing and operation of standard office equipment including personal and networked computers, and ten-key calculator.
Microsoft Word, Excel and Access software.
Report preparation, record keeping, and filing methods.
Correct English usage and excellent com-munication skills, both verbal and written.
Standard business arithmetic, including percentages and decimals.
Skills:
Typing at rate of 40 net words per minute.
Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access software.
Proofing skills.
Analytical skills.
Interpersonal skills.
Organizing and prioritizing tasks and maintaining filing and record keeping systems.
Routine mathematical computations.
Mental and Physical Abilities:
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
Ability to receive and follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to work independently and apply sound judgment when resolving problems and complaints.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to work outdoor recreation events in various weather conditions.
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lb.

Additional Information:
Applicant must type at least 40 net words per minute on word processor and score at least 70% on spelling test.
Selected applicant must pass a drug test.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
Answers telephone and routes calls/work orders over two-way radio system.
Performs routine and moderately complex clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, and public contact duties for the Young Family Athletic Center.
Processes transactions and provides services to the public relate to Young Family Athletic Center programs.
Responsible for administering Community Service Program.
Provides general information and assistance to the public regarding department services/operations.
Type's correspondence, forms, notices and reports.
Maintains filing and record keeping systems.
Calculates, verifies, tabulates, posts, receipts, and processes monies.
Photocopies and facsimiles a variety of documents.
Receives, date stamps, sorts, and distributes incoming mail.
Represents the department in a courteous, tactful, and helpful manner.
Work is required on several outdoor Community events, some occurring on holidays.
Per-forms other related work as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Most work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomfort6s associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
Additional work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Parks and Recreation.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
