IT Specialist, GS-2210-13 (DE/CR)
As an IT Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Serve as the NEXRAD software build manager for all Radar Operations Center (ROC) supported field systems, including Radar Data Acquisition (RDA), Radar Product Generator (RPG), Terminal Doppler Weather Radar (TDWR) Supplemental Product Generator (SPG), National Level (NL) 2 and NOAA Profiler Network (NPN). Manage Configuration Management (CM) automated software support tools including IBM DOORS, Visible Razor and Oracle Agile and establishes and maintains the CM development environments necessary to generate software for all supported field systems. Develop plans, budget resources, evaluate vendor and external developed software to verify conformance with government and ROC specific software configuration management, manage the release of software; and provide guidance to contractor support personnel to support software release kit development, shipping, and implementation tracking for all NEXRAD computer systems. Develop, implement and maintain the processes and procedures necessary to support generation and modification of applications and operating system software and site unique data to include geographic background maps, adaptation parameters, and occultation/hybrid scan data used by the supported systems. Administer CM Linux workstations and servers and media production facilities. Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. In addition to meeting the IT competencies above, applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Deploying software for complex computer systems; Performing system administration of Linux servers and workstations; and Administering configuration management tools.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
